Wordle

Use Wordle.net to create “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like. You can print them out, or save them to the Wordle gallery to share with your friends.

Tips for using the Scanner

  • General rule of thumb: the smaller the image, the larger the resolution (dots per inch - dpi) that you need to use / 300 dpi / 1200 dpi - large)
  • To scan a picture, use jpeg format (you can then manipulate the image if you want)
  • To scan multiple pages of text, use pdf format (this is a final product; you can't manipulate it)
  • Selecting "kind" - text is black and white only; black & white has gray tones; color

PicPick
Useful for Windows XP users, but beware when selecting the correct file to download (there are some ads on the page that try to trick you into downloading something other than PicPick screen capture applications).
